Genesis 3:15 - 15 I will put hostility between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring. He will strike your head, and you will strike his heel.
Reflection: Hope. A word that can be used properly in many contexts. It’s commonly used to say, “I hope it happens”. For the believer, however, there is a hope that is more than a passing wish. It is a hope built on and generated by a faithful God. This hope is not new. It can be found immediately following the fall of man when the phrase “He will strike your head” was heard by all creation. There was a blow to the head of Satan that forever shuts the door of hope for him; he has lost the war. At the same time, we also find the door of hope opened to the children of Adam: “You will strike His heel.”
As a distance runner for most of my adult life, I have experienced heel injury. It is painful but not life threatening. I had hope of healing and getting back on the road. It is a bit difficult to grasp all that was involved with this brief phrase written in Genesis 3. For us, a more precise comment can be found in Romans 5:10: “For if, while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, then how much more, having been reconciled, will we be saved by His life!.” Boom! Done! Over! Past tense! We have hope surer than the earth on which we stand. My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus’ blood and righteousness.

Prayer: Thank you, Father, for a perfect plan for reconciliation, thank you Jesus for perfect submission and thank you Holy Spirit for continually bearing witness of this truth. All hail the power of Jesus name. Amen
