Luke 2:13-14 - 13 Suddenly there was a multitude of the heavenly host with the angel, praising God and saying: 14 Glory to God in the highest heaven, and peace on earth to people he favors!
Reflection: Experiencing peace and joy amidst life’s most troublesome circumstances is a gift from Jesus that is available to all His believers. For me, taking to heart the promises in Philippians 4:6-7 is the way to joy regardless of how difficult my personal problems may be.
Philippians 4:6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
I meditate on these verses whenever it seems I am losing the battle of thoughts in my mind. When I bring these troubles to God in prayer (with gratitude), he always guards my heart and mind in Jesus Christ. The end result is always a more joyful and peaceful David!
