Monday, December 11 - A Child Given out of Love

12/11/2017

Isaiah 9:6 - 6 For a child will be born for us, a son will be given to us, and the government will be on his shoulders. He will be named Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.

Reflection: Jesus came to us as a newborn babe. He came as a helpless child. He came the same way we all entered this fallen world, in need of his mother's nourishment and tender care. The Word became flesh for us, who were sinners. An all powerful all knowing God became the same as us, in order to save us. The ultimate example of love.

God gave His only Son to us as an offering out of love. Jesus came to this world and became flesh for us, out of love. "Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one's life for his friends." God, Jesus, the Eternal Father, loves us unconditionally, so much so that He laid down His life so that we might have life eternal!

Robert Baldonado

Prayer: Dear Jesus, bless our Church and help us love like you love. Bless our families and help us love them the way you love. As leaders, help us lead our families in Your way. And show us Your love everyday. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
